LANSING--Mayor Andy Schor today thanked the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce for their endorsement of his re-election. Mayor Schor has worked with the LRCC, a local business association whose membership numbers over 1,000 area small and large businesses, for many years to ensure growth, economic development, and jobs in Lansing.

"I am proud to be the business and labor candidate. I have worked closely with the Lansing Chamber of Commerce to ensure that our small businesses and those fueling Lansing’s economy have voices at the table," said the Mayor. "It is an honor to be endorsed by both our business community and our workers to grow the economy and support economic opportunity for all in Lansing. I thank the business owners for their support and faith in my leadership in Lansing for another four years."

Steve Japinga, LRCC’s Vice President Public Affairs, also discussed the importance of city-level policy to the economic success of Lansing businesses. "As the voice of business for Greater Lansing, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce prides itself on endorsing candidates such as Mayor Schor who are focused on sound policy that creates jobs, encourages economic growth, and strengthens our region. We look forward to supporting the Mayor's campaign and assisting him in his election."

Mayor Schor has worked closely with small businesses during the pandemic to assist them with rescue grants and CARES grants. He also brought the EBay Retail Revival and Grow with Google to Lansing. He helped bring affordable grocery and hotels on the Michigan Avenue corridor, and has created Corridor Improvement Authorities in southwest Lansing and on the Grand River corridor by the airport and old town. He also worked with the LRCC in the ReLaunch Lansing collaborative effort to ensure that businesses can relaunch, reopen, and re-engage as soon as possible.
