LANSING--Today, Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth announced his endorsement of Andy Schor for Lansing mayor. Sheriff Wriggelsworth has served as sheriff since his election in 2016 after over 20 years in law enforcement.

"As Mayor, it's my duty to represent the people of Lansing," said the Mayor. "That's why the support of trusted community and regional leaders like Sheriff Wriggelsworth is so vital to govern effectively." He continued, "Over the past four years, I've had the opportunity to work closely with Sheriff Wriggelsworth as we collaborated on important issues and circumstances dealing with public safety in Lansing and throughout the county. I'm very grateful to the Sheriff for his continued support of our mission and vision."

Sheriff Wriggelsworth responded in kind, saying, "I have worked with Mayor Schor, his administration and police chiefs, and many other members of LPD collaboratively to do what’s best for the community. We've helped our collective police agencies increase effectiveness and build trust within our community. The Mayor is a dedicated and persevering leader, continually prioritizing the public safety of his constituents and our region. For these reasons I'm proud to endorse Mayor Schor as the best candidate for Mayor in Lansing."

Mayor Schor has also been endorsed by U.S. Senator Gary Peters, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, nearly a dozen labor unions, small business owner Gregory Eaton, former Mayor Tony Benavides, and many other neighborhood leaders, Lansing and regional elected officials, small business owners, and others. Schor also recently finished the release of his vision for Lansing’s future, which will be updated throughout the campaign trail.
