LANSING - Today Mayor Schor is honored to announce the endorsement of AFSCME Council 25 in his campaign for reelection. AFSCME Council 25 tirelessly works to ensure that all employees are treated fairly and have their voices heard.

“Andy Schor is ready to stand up and fight for working families,” said Council 25 President Lawrence A. Roehrig. “He has a bold vision where anyone who works hard isn’t forced to choose between groceries or prescriptions, and where our Seniors don’t have to worry about constant attacks on their pensions and healthcare, retiring with dignity, respect, and the benefits they earned.”

“I am excited for AFSCME Council 25’s endorsement,” said Mayor Schor. “As Mayor, my relationships with unions have been an asset in governing, especially key during the COVID-19 pandemic as the nature of work changed dramatically. I would like to thank AFSCME for continually being part of the positive force making Lansing a great city to work in.”

The Union AFSCME Council 25 is one of many unions to endorse Mayor Schor for reelection. Mayor Schor has a growing list of endorsers. He is joined by Senator Gary Peters, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, half a dozen labor unions, small business owner Gregory Eaton, former Mayor Tony Benavides, and many other neighborhood leaders, Lansing and regional elected officials, small business owners, and others. Schor also released his vision for Lansing’s future, which will be updated throughout the campaign trail. More information on Andy Schor’s campaign for Mayor can be found at www.andyschor.com.
