The Capitol City Labor Program announced today their endorsement of State Representative Andy Schor for Lansing Mayor. Capitol City Labor Program is a Police Union representing 700 police and law enforcement professionals in the Mid-Michigan area, including the members of the Lansing Police Department.
"We found Andy to be honest and upfront and concerned about the issues in the City of Lansing. He is dedicated to supporting the law enforcement efforts to keep Lansing a safe place to work and live," said Tom Krug, Executive Director of Capitol City Labor Program.
"Public safety in Lansing is one of my top priorities. Lansing police officers keep us safe, and it is a great honor to receive the endorsement of the police officers in Lansing,” said Schor. “We must ensure Lansing is a city that is attractive to all residents – families, young millennials, seniors – as well as visitors and those that work here. Feeling safe and secure in Lansing is something all of these people expect and, as Mayor, I will work with our police officers to ensure that Lansing is safe and a place where everyone wants to live, work, and visit."
Schor has also received the endorsement of seven labor unions, many Lansing business leaders, four current and former Lansing area members of Michigan House of Representatives, over 30 Lansing area elected officials, many Lansing neighborhood leaders and the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors since he announced his candidacy in February.
