June 26, 2017 (Lansing, Michigan) – The UAW Capital Area CAP Council announced today their endorsement of State Representative Andy Schor to be the next Mayor of Lansing.
"Andy has been a good friend to UAW workers in Lansing. We know he understands the Lansing economy and will be a great mayor for Lansing’s workers, residents, and employers. Andy has stood with us, and we are proud to stand behind him as Lansing’s next mayor,” said Mike Green, President of the UAW CAP.
“It is an honor to receive the support of the hard-working men and women of the UAW,” said Schor. “Whether building cars, serving Lansing, serving the state, making Sparrow efficient, or so many other things, the UAW of the Lansing area are there making our community better. I am excited to move forward with the help and endorsement of the UAW as we spread our message of change for Lansing’s future.”
This endorsement follows that of 11 labor unions, four current and former Lansing area members of the Michigan House of Representatives, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, many Lansing business leaders, the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors, over 30 Lansing area elected officials and many Lansing neighborhood leaders.
